Gamers stick around after ACAM for a day or two. I'd like to thank John McAllister, Rob Macauley, Fred Ochs, Greg Laue and Brian Kuh for showing me around quite a few games that I normally would of struggled on trying to figure out on my own. Pretty sick how these guys can dissect games so quickly.

Mike- sounds like we left too soon! What were some of the games?

It was really great to hang with you. Robbie lakeman said in another thread you guys might be coming out to Chicago soon! We will eat well, game and of course make several trips to the bar

Without a doubt. You three definitely represented your arcade in the most positive way. Had an awesome time with you guys. Me and some playas are trying to figure out when we can get out there. Definitely swing by. Some of the games were Exerion . The end. Kicker. Speed buggy. Moon shuttle. Turtles. Poonyan. Frontline. Zero. And some others

I'd head out to GG if a group was going.

How far did those top players get on Pooyan?

D'oh, wish I could have stuck around a bit after, sounds like a cool master class was put on by some great players.

FWIW, these were my guesses prior to the tourney(s) this year. I managed to hit on a few but not too many which is going to be the case since a bulk of games are going to be new generally and unable to be guessed. It's always fun to try and think it out, however.

Manufacturer's Challenge -- Konami

1. Sunset Riders
2. Jail Break
3. Devastators
4. Rush N' Attack
5. Road Fighter

Main Tourney

1. Cosmic Avenger
2. Discs of Tron - Until i realized the score disappeared
3. Gravitar
4. Jungle Hunt
5. Lunar Lander
6. Marble Madness
7. Pooyan
8. Quantum
9. Red Alert
10. Rip Off
11. Solar Fox
12. Space Zap
13. Stratovox
14. Turbo
15. Venture

Sunset Riders is too new for the tourney and Devastators is barely too new. I was told by ACAM that they would only focus on classic titles from 1987 and earlier. Vindicators is 1988 and Sunset Riders is 1991.

Night Driver is a predecessor to Turbo. You were close there.

Is that for all years, or just this year?

It's a shame they cut it off at 1987, there are so many great games released from 1988-1991.

It would of been interesting to see people play Moon Wars. Very unique control panel.

You need to have 7 space shooter games and a token driving game, then throw in a couple new titles and a couple old classics for the mainstream gamers to round out the guessing game.

How did you guess Konami? You part Rainman?

By new titles I mean stuff they've been trying to hide in the back and we haven't seen on the floor.

The right side of aurcade shows new games added to various locations. Funspot added a few Konami titles all at once awhile back which alerted me. I got most of the games incorrect though as Clint mentioned they were too modern. Wasn't rain man one of the legion of doom?
