The Kong Off 2
on 6/8/2012 3:34:54 PM
Just got confirmation that along with the 15 Donkey Kong celebs, ie: Hank Chien, Billy Mitchell, Steve Wiebe, Allan from Austrailia, etc... Other gaming celebs like Pat Laffaye, Joel West, Lon Macdonald, Steve Sanders, Walter Day, Eric Akeson, Ken House, Andrew Laidlaw, and Bill Carlton will be making appearances. All other events will pale in comparison to what we have in store. Keep following us on facebook. The kong off 2!

Fun and games!

Is anybody able to join the Kong Off than just the known "top" players?

You gotta prove some serious chops at DK to get the invite.

At the original Kong Off there was a wildcard machine that ANYONE could participate on. There was a buy in of about $40 (don't quote me). The scores set on that machine would count just as any of the invited contestants' scores and was eligible to win the grand prize. In fact last year, Ben Mazowita set a pretty serious score on that machine 817K (8th place). The downside is if more than 1 person buys in you'd have the share the machine.

Can't say Richie and Jordan are planning the same for this year, but I'd say there's a good chance. If you want an invite/dedicated cabinet, you need 1M+ on arcade or 1.1M+ on MAME.

Win a DK machine and $2000. Having to pay for the shipping($500) out of your winnings . Big name players get paid to fly out to play and get free food and drinks from 1UP arcade. Never recieve your prize= FRAUD!!!!!!

I was there and questioned the final prize. I heard top prize was 2000 and a cab and when Jeff got only 1500 I wondered why and then I heard he had to pay for shipping. Was that in fine print? Because I didnt see it myself I just saw what was advertised. I heard that Jeff still doesnt have the cab to this day.

And you expect anything less from Twin Galaxies?

I wonder what happened to all those games donated to IVGHOF. Or for that matter the money. Same old same old.

I am curious who exactly got paid to fly out there, and got free food? (I am aware of the free drinks)
