I don mind the entry fee at all. Even if it was $250 I would still enter. $60 is a bargain. This year we got $40 in tokens plus a shirt plus a bunch of cool goodies. I realize there is a tremendous amount of behind the scenes effort and expenses that go into this tournament. I am so impressed by the event and the volunteers and paid staff etc. this is an amazing event, one that I will continue coming to as long as I am able.

I think that a fee of $75 is what it needs to be...$20 per day Thurs-Sat and $15 for Sun.

But really the cup of coins is enough, and at BEST a take-away novelty, either the cup they come in, an ACAM pen, something small...best that ACAM retains most of the fee income.

$75 is well worth it...that's less than $20 per day.

Maybe it takes an awful lot to impress me.

I think the tourney is cute, but has room for improvement. The people who show up are what makes it worthwhile. Being able to hatch evil plans with the Legion of Doom can't be under estimated for its cathartic value.

One suggestion I have to make things better would be to put in Super Sprint as one of the games. That's an extra 60 dollars guarantee added to the revenue.

Good plan. Rob will have no choice. Give him his own corner with Super SprintPac-Man

Rob Ross, why do,you travel so far to do what you love, yet seem so miserlly to part with money to support the organization? Last time I checked, Kanata was not a third world nation. Surely you could part with $20 per day to play arcade games that should by all rights have been retired years ago.

If I don't enjoy the games chosen, why would I pay $60.

I'd rather play other games around the third floor, have way more fun and save my money for other things.

Why did everyone line up to fork over their cash like sheep when they hadn't even revealed the games in ACAM 15? That seems foolish to me.

Rob, why is it an absolute must that the game titles are known in advance ?

This is not the Olympic decathlon where you know 4 years in advance what the events are.

Back in the day, I am told that the competitors just showed up and whatever the games selected were...most of which were newly released...they competed on them regardless of the title.

Why should today's competitors feel differently ? Is the competitive spirit missing ?

I'm perfectly happy to show up, pay the registration as it benefits ACAM regardless of titles in the competition, and simply have a good time.

People line up and pay the fee because it is a tournament. It is not about being sheep. It is about having the courage to compete with some of the best players in the world. The mystery of what games we will play is part of the enjoyment.

I'm going to agree to disagree on this one. We all have different reason for visiting ACAM and differing motivations towards the tournament.
