Galloping Ghost Arcade is proud to announce it will be hosting “T20” on May 28th through June 1st - an arcade tournament consisting of 20 games revealed on the day of the event. Expect a big variety of games at the tournament, so players specialising in one type of game will not have a clear advantage. Since Galloping Ghost Arcade has several games not available to play anywhere else in the county, these games would be totally new to everyone competing. There will be some games that have never been on the floor of the arcade that will be revealed on the first day of the competition.
We scheduled this event as soon as we heard the unfortunate news of FunSpot cancelling their annual tournament, and have taken the same time-frame for our event in hope that those already planning on traveling will consider coming to Galloping Ghost Arcade instead. We hope to establish T20 as a great annual event, and in the future T20 will be scheduled to not conflict with FunSpot’s event or any other major arcade event going on in the country.
We are expecting competitors to come from all areas of the county, and also hope to have some international players competing as well. The format of the event will be revealed shortly, but rest assured that it will be a fair and impartial score-based event, and no favoritism will be shown to anyone. What we can reveal is the first place finisher of one game will be worth the number of players he beat, second will be one point less (no matter how much less he scores), and so on; Even if you finish poorly in one game, another strong finished will raise your average tournament score significantly. Scores will be tracked on Aurcade.com and updated constantly for total transparency and so competitors can gauge where they should focus their tournament game time.
We will be streaming select games for the entire event, so if you are unable to attend, tune in to our Twitch.Tv channels that will be showcasing the action. All games will be video captured and posted after the event for documentation purposes. Our live stream will also feature player bio and commentary.
We are also going to have several special guests at the event, as well! Walter Day will be on hand to adjudicate TWO WORLD RECORDS for the Guinness Book of World Records. First declaring us as the LARGEST ARCADE in the WORLD and then we will attempt to break the world record for most people playing arcade games at one time. Aurcade Owner David Hernly will be in attendance; We expect several other game developers and industry legends who created many of the classic arcade games to be here, as well.
Even if you do not consider yourself a competitive arcade gamer, we want to encourage players of all skill levels and ages to come out. This is a great chance to meet the champions of our hobby, see them do what they do best, and maybe grab a burger or some Chicago-style deep dish pizza with them afterwards!
